Joe Budden’s wife Cyn Santana has responded to some backlash over some comments she made about black women.
We are living in an age where folks can go on social media and dig up some old tweets and trigger an outrage over it. We saw that happened recently with Kevin Hart and now we are seeing Cyn Santana coming under fire for some comments she made during an interview in 2016. She is now addressing the controversy and she is making it known that she has no problem with black women.
During an interview with The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee in 2016 on her “Lip Service” podcast, Cyn Santana says she rather date black men than Hispanic men and then black men preferred Latina girls than black women because they have too much attitude.
Cyna Santana has since apologize and said that her statement was taken out of context. “I wanna be VERY clear on where EYE stand,” she tweeted. “I’ve never bashed a black woman in my life. NEVER have and never WILL. It ain’t in ME. I don’t feel it. I improperly used the word “especially” in the interview which made it seem to some as if I was separating myself and looking down on.”
She continues, “If I’ve offended anyone I do indeed apologize, I used the word “especially” in a way that changed the context of what i was trying to say for some, and while i was TRYING to be sensitive I used the word “personal” because I know its a sensitive topic. I’m not here to attack.”

Let’s have this conversation. I’m not here to fight. 1-its an old interview. I no longer use that word. Growing up, EYE did not know that the N word was actually a BAD word that offended. Once I learned the TRUE meaning and how hurtful it was, I took the word out of my vocabulary https://t.co/mawwrN8aVD

Growing up there was always a lot of tension between a Latina woman and a black woman. Why? I never understood it. Until my recent adult years. I understood why it’s a sensitive thing. The things black women endured historically. Actually, a lot of thanks to y’all.
