Travis Scott has stepped forward to address a controversy surrounding a transgender model and his Astroworld album cover.
Apparently, transgender model Amanda Lepore grew upset with Travis Scott after she was omitted from his Astroworld album cover. The artwork’s photographer, David LaChapelle, has since addressed the controversy saying that Lepore was overshadowing the other girls on the cover. Now the G.O.O.D. Music rapper himself has stepped forward to address the concerns of some fans.
“Thank you David Lachappelle and Amanda Lepore and everyone that came out to make all the covers and the vision come to life!!! ASTROWORLD IS ABOUT LOVE AND EXPRESSION NOT HATE!” Travis Scott said.
“Growing up I’ve been taught to accept everyone, not to cast people away but bring them in your home! I have nothing but respect for the LGBTQ community. I want to use my voice to make it clear that everyone on this planet is as equal and f**king awesome to the next.”
Scott’s new album Astroworld is now available across all streaming platforms and its packing some real fire so go listen.
