Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams is engaged to her boyfriend Chad Johnson.
The couple has been dating for a year and Johnson popped the question recently and she said yes. Williams graced the stage at Coachella with Beyonce and Kelly Rowland during their Destiny’s Child reunion set. She told PEOPLE that they could just not contain the good news any longer and decided to share their engagement with the world.
“On March 21, 2018, the love of my life @chadjohnson77 proposed and I said “Yesssssssss…..I will, I will, I will!!!” More of our love story is in the link in my bio from @people!!! Take a walk with us on our journey,” she wrote on Instagram.
Michelle Williams and Chad Johnson met in March last year and during a recent appearance on The Real, the couple relayed how they started dating and how they arrived at engagement. The pair met at a spiritual retreat in Arizona run by Johnson, who is a life coach and a pastor.

“I was in a horrible, dark place,” Williams, 37, said while opening up about her cheating ex-boyfriend. “I just needed to go somewhere where I could get a message of hope and restoration, rejuvenation — get connected to God.”
Chad Johnson says he was also in a similar place and that made their relationship even stronger. The couple says they are already planning their wedding which will happen sometime soon.
