Tory Lanez recently explained how Nicki Minaj chewed him out and told him to remove her verse from a song.
Turns out that Nicki Minaj was supposed to be on his new album Memories Don’t Die, but was eventually left off per her request. According to Lanez, he asked Nicki to do the unthinkable, asked her to do over her verse because he didn’t think it was hard enough. We all know that the Young Money rapper is notorious for dropping some hard verses on her features, but somehow the Toronto singer wasn’t feeling it.
““She was on the record first and I was telling her something about the verse,” Tory Lanez told HotNewHipHop. “I wasn’t saying it was bad or anything, her verse was incredible and I’m also like a super Nicki fan. But I was telling her something and it may have came off.. Cause I was texting her and it may have came off in a different way. She probably read it differently than I said it. I think it maybe kinda came off a little bit arrogant or I kinda said something I shouldn’t have said about her verse and she was like ‘well n***a, it’s just not that serious, take my verse off the thing.’”
Tory Lanez says he told Nicki Minaj okay and moved on from there but he is hoping to work with her in the future when they can both be on the same page.
