XXXTentacion gets a lucky break for the holidays after being released from jail on house arrest.
The rapper was arrested last week Friday and slapped with 15 new felony charges related to witness tampering, and just this week alone 8 new charges were filed against him. Prosecutors say he contacted his ex-girlfriend, the same female he is accused of kidnapping and beating, and coerce her to drop the charges against him. The judge ordered him taken into custody at his court hearing on December 15th, ruling that he broke the terms of his bond. He also again contacted her while he was in jail and those conversations were recorded and lead to some new charges.
On Wednesday, he was granted some reprieved when he was released from behind bars on house arrest where he will be for the next two months as he awaits trial. Urban Islandz previously reported that XXXTentacion faces decades in prison for the charges laid out against him including domestic battery by strangulation, witness-tampering, false imprisonment, and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.
While on house arrest X will be able to fulfill his contractual obligations with his label so he will be permitted to visit the studio to record new music. It’s unclear if he will be allowed to travel for touring. The South Florida rapper is also barred from making any contacts with his victims or any witnesses in the case.
