Meek Mill and JAY-Z’s Roc Nation are being sued by the family of a concertgoer who was murdered.
Meek Mill has more legal troubles on his hand after the family of a man who was slain at one of his concerts filed a lawsuit against him and Roc Nation. The incarcerated rapper is currently fighting for his freedom after being sent to prison for 2-4 years for probation violation. Even if he manages to secure his release, his legal troubles are far from over.
The family of Jaquan Graves filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Meek Mill and Roc Nation, TMZ reported. The Philly rapper is currently signed to Roc Nation on a management contract.
Graves was shot and killed in the parking lot outside of the venue at one of Meek Mill’s concerts last year in Connecticut. He had just left the venue when suddenly gunfire erupted sending people running for their lives. The suite claims that Meek and RN “allowed thugs to remain on the premises, after exhibiting disorderly, disruptive, argumentative, angry and/or agitated behavior toward patrons.”
Turns out that this is the second lawsuit that Meek Mill is facing from the shooting incident because a second person also died. That victim’s family also filed a lawsuit a few weeks ago where they requested in their suit that the Dreamchasers rapper submitted a written response under oath about their questions about the incident within 30 days. That suit accused Meek of harboring thugs at his concerts making the venue unsafe for concertgoers. It’s unclear if the Philly rapper responded to the lawsuit. His lawyers are currently busy working overtime trying to get him out of prison.
He also denied having any involvement in the shooting incident and argued that the claims made against him in the lawsuit is filled with racist undertones and stereotypes.
