Mavado is one of the most in demand dancehall artist this currently. Following a series of shows in the US and Canada, the Gully Gad is looking to perform at the 2017 Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival.
The “Beat and Teach” singer is the headlining act on the October 27 show. The 20th staging of the Dominica Music Festival will be held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau at the island’s capital. Promoters of the three-day music festival also confirmed that Romain Virgo and Etana will join Mavado on the event.
Mavado has been having a great year in dancehall with several of his new music released this year climbing local charts and placed in heavy rotations on radios and parties across Jamaica and internationally. The dancehall singer, whose real name is David Brooks, has over the last decade made a name for himself internationally through collaborations with the likes of Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, JAY-Z, Akon, Ludacris, Wyclef Jean, and more.
He also recently performed at this year’s Reggae Sumfest which is one of the biggest reggae/dancehall music festivals in the world. The World Creole Music Fest features a diverse group of creole music across many genres like reggae, soca, afro-funk, calypso, Zouk, Haitian kompas and more.
