XXXTentacion has been missing in action since having some issues on his recent tour but now he is back in the headlines after announcing his debut album.
The Lauderhill rapper announced on Instagram on Monday that the album is set for release on August 25th. The title of the album is “17” and we are yet to know the meaning behind that title. Perhaps it’s just his favorite number or 17 has a significant meaning in his life. “It’s my first body of work, first official album release, and the first time I’ve put my all into a project,” he wrote on IG. “I mean it when I say this project is absolutely amazing.”
Last month, XXXTentacion announced that he will take some time to disappear for a while after a series of bad events on his tour including him getting knocked out by a rap rival in San Diego. Seems like he also took the down time to go into the studio to record some new music for the album. The Broward County, Florida rapper also told his fans that his album will be more about substance than hype. Perhaps he took some time out to also listen to JAY-Z’s new album 4:44. “If you listen to me to get hype or to not think, don’t buy this album,” he wrote. “This one is for the depression, for the depressed ones, for the lost ones.”
