Sean Paul has had a great year last year and this year is shaping up to have another impressive year.
The dancehall superstar’s hard work in 2016 is paying off because he just nabs his second Teen Choice Award nomination. His single “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie was nominated for Choice Electronic/Dance Song. The single peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the charts in several territories worldwide including Australia, The UK, Finland, Germany, Austria, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, and New Zealand.
The powerful single “Rockabye” tackles the topic of single mothers facing hardship raising their kids. Sean Paul is passionate about the topic after growing up in a single parent home himself while his father serves time in prison. The single has since been certified platinum. Last year, Sean Paul earned a Teen Choice Award nomination for his number one single with Sia “Cheap Thrills.”
The 2017 Teen Choice Award is set for Sunday, August 13 at the USC’s Galen Center and will be aired live on FOX.
