JAY-Z uploaded the full animated video for the single “The Story of O.J.” on his Vevo channel on YouTube.
“The Story of O.J.” is the second single on the album and one of the most talked about because of the messaging. JAY-Z released an animated music video for the single on TIDAL last weekend and now the video is on YouTube for those of us who don’t have a TIDAL subscription. The clip made a play on the famous Looney Tunes cartoons and made reference to O.J. Simpson.
On the single, JAY-Z raps about racism in America and about financial freedom in the black community. “Financial freedom my only hope / F**k livin’ rich and dyin’ broke / I bought some artwork for 1 million / 2 years later, that sh*t worth 2 million / Few years later, that sh*t worth 8 million / I can’t wait to give this sh*t to my children,” Hov raps. JAY-Z was also accused of using some anti-Semitic lyrics on the single.
