Nicki Minaj has confirmed that she will be opening the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night with a big performance.
The rap queen shared her excitement with her fans on Twitter on Thursday telling her millions of followers on Twitter to tune in. Billboard first confirmed that Nicki will be performing alongside a few special guests including David Guetta, Jason Derulo, and Lil Wayne. Still no word yet on whether or not Drake will be taking the stage to perform his part of her latest mega hit “No Frauds.” Clearly, she will be performing her new single “Swalla” with Derulo and her other single “Light My Body Up” with Guetta and Weezy.
“She’s opening the show as a way of honoring a great achievement she had on the Billboard charts this year,” BBMAs executive producer Mark Bracco, said. “It’s going to be an epic opening.” Nicki Minaj has been having a stellar run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year with all of her new singles debuting on the chart. She also surpassed Aretha Franklin for the most singles overall by a female artist to grace the Hot 100 chart.
Nicki Minaj is also tapped to receive a Billboard Chart Achievement Award. The “No Frauds” rapper is currently spending her weekend rehearsing for her big performance of the night and it could shape up to be the biggest.
