WizKid finally releases his new single with Drake “Come Closer” which will be featured on his upcoming album.
We first heard the single back in January when it was leaked online under the title “Hush Up The Silence.” Sony Music then sent out a letter to several platforms asking them to removed the song. Since then WizKid has had a change of heart about the title and now change it to “Come Closer” and officially releases it on Apple Music.
“Me, me number one inna me city / Me steady repping, representing for me city, yo / African-born, me rep my ting, yo / Me come clean like me come inna me video / Me, me come through like a soldier / She give me tease and she pleasing my roja,” WizKid sings over a dancehall-afro beat.
Drake and the Nigerian born singer had one of the biggest singles on the planet last year “One Dance” featured on the Toronto rapper’s album Views. That soong received over one billion streams on Spotify and another half a billion on Apple Music in 2016. WizKid also has a new single out with Vybz Kartel “Wine To The Top” that’s getting a lot of attention. A video for the club banger was released last week. Can Wiz and Drizzy recreate the blockbuster hit that they had in 2016 with “One Dance” with this follow-up single “Come Closer.”
WizKid didn’t land a spot on Drake’s new album More Life, but these two make great music together and should continue to collaborate musically.
