Queen Ifrica becomes the first female artist in three years to top the Billboard Reggae Chart.
The reggae singer just released her sophomore album Climb which was released on March 3rd and debut at the top of the Billboard Reggae Chart this week. The powerful 17-track set was released under VP Records and saw a guest appearance Damian Marley who is featured on the lead single “Trueversation.”
Queen Ifrica has over the years earned her place in Jamaican music as a true authentic lyricist. On this album she delivers some great authentic reggae singles like “Rebellion” and “Love Is Not Blind.” Climb is the followup album to her 2009 project Montego Bay, a project which pays homage to her hometown.
Elsewhere on the Billboard Reggae chart this week, soca star Fay-Ann Lyons new album Break The World debut at No. 3, while Common Kings’ Last in Paradise slips to No. 2 from being No. 1. Stick Figure’s Set In Stone and Rebelution’s Falling Into Place rounded out the top five.
