Future is about to drop his new self-titled album, a project he liken to him making a fresh start.
The Atlanta rapper sat down for a rere interview with Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe on Apple Music today where he opened up the new project, his baby mama Ciara and his recent disappearance from social media. Seems he is already doing the press promotional run for the album and its working because its all we are talking about today in hip hop.
“I want to be able to speak on how I’m living now, more so,” Future said. “I want to be authentic to what I am now, true to what I am, to be able to tell you, to get you from where you’re at, to get to where I am now, to this position…It’s like a fresh start.”
Future and Drake have developed a strong friendship over the years starting from their joint platinum-selling album What a Time to be Alive and then going on tour together last year on their “Summer Sixteen tour which eventually broke the record for the highest grossing tour in hip hop history.
“I never really speak on it because it was just a vibe,” he told Lowe. “It was just a moment in time, for me to share it with another artist. When I talk about it, I want to make sure he here. I’m at the point in my life right now, musically, where I’m just focused on creatively coming out with something special on my own.”
based on that statement its likely that we will not get another joint project from Future and Drake. But sometimes one is enough and that album WATTBA was massive. Last year he released two albums, Purple Reign and EVOL, so its likely we will get a second project from the Freebandz emcee this year.
