Atlanta rap group Migos released their highly anticipated new album CULTURE. The trio of Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset made the project available to their fans just before midnight on Thursday night. The album saw guest appearances from 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Khaled, and Gucci Mane. On the production side you can look for names like Zaytoven, Cardo, Murda Beatz, 808 Mafia, Nard & B, and Metro Boomin.
CULTURE comes with 13 tracks including the Hot 100 No. 1 single “Bad and Boujee.” This new project is the followup to Migos’ 2015 LP Yung Rich Nation. “Bad and Boujee” is back at No. 1 this week after slipping to No. 2 last week. The single grew rapidly in popularity following a shout-out from Donald Glover at the recently held Golden Globes awards.
“Where all this culture is coming from — all this freestyle, all this triplet flow, all these repetitive hooks — we have to station that,” Quavo said in an interview with Fader. “We had to put an address on it. I wanna put our name on the forefront of it, cause we put our time and hard work and dedication into being the head of the young generation.”
The album comes at a time for Migos when they are surging in popularity with several hit songs released last year. After listening to the album it looks like they will continue that momentum as this project will score a few charting singles for the Atlanta group. “Bad and Boujee” featuring fellow ATLien Lil Uzi Vert is their biggest single to date. The question now is can they top that with any other songs off this project. The group will be going on tour this year to push the album.
