Mariah Carey finally explains that disastrous New Years Eve performance on D*ck Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
The infamous incident has been in the headlines for over a week now and Mariah is finally coughing up her side of the story. According to a statement she released on her Twitter account, the mishap was much more than just regular technical difficulties. Mariah have also done a few interviews since the incident where she addressed it in part but this is the first time that she is outright putting the blame squarely on the producers saying that their motives was to humiliate her.
“It turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me,” she said in a video posted on Twitter.
“I haven’t really addressed the situation that happened on New Year’s Eve, and in time I will,” Mariah explains. “For now, I want everyone to know that I came to New Year’s Eve in New York in great spirits and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world. It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control.”
