The LOX launched a major comeback with a new deal with Roc Nation and their first album after sixteen years “Filthy America… It’s Beautiful.”
The last album we heard from The LOX prior to this was “We Are The Streets” released back in 2000. This project comes with 12 singles and saw guest features from Gucci Mane, Infa-Red, Mobb Deep, Dyce Payne, who appeared on two tracks, and Fetty Wap. During a recent interview with Billboard, Styles P says the album features the old school LOX over modern beats.
“Same vibe, music, but we didn’t go with old school-sounding beats,” he said. “We not trying to sell you the ’90s. We just selling you good rap. We not trying to sell you a time because a lot of old ’90s rappers get caught up and [think] it has to be that way. Times change … What we giving you is something organic to ride to and say wow. We just giving you a chapter out the book.”
The 1990s rap group is already working on their next project We Are The Streets 2, due in early 2017. The album “Filthy America… It’s Beautiful” is now available for stream on iTunes/Apple Music and should be available on TIDAL with The LOX new deal with Roc Nation in play.
