It’s been a while since we’ve seen a full length interview from Meek Mill.
The Philly emcee sat down for a candid interview with MyMixtapez where he opened up about taking an L and his feud with Drake.
“When I see an L, that’s what I think about the most,” Meek Mill said. “I learned a lot from watching these ni**as that I did a lot for in this industry. I used to always hear people say, ‘This industry’s fake. These ni**as is fake.’”
Meek also said that he never doubt for a moment that his beef with Drake could have stopped his career. “I remember last year, watching people, everybody going against me about a diss record,” explained. “I remember looking at it like, ‘Y’all really think this gon’ stop me? You think telling me I’m going on my girlfriend’s tour is gon’ stop me? Is that a joke?’”
Meek Mill also recalled having a conversation with Jay Z where the rap legend advised him not to engaged the social media trolls.
On his relationship with Nicki Minaj, the Dreamchaser rapper says that he always wanted a girl who is making more money than he is.
“I thought that was live for me to have a girl that get more money than me, that do a bigger tour that me,” Meek Milly added. “I thought that was actually dope, to wake up, go on stage with your girl, make some money, have some good loving at the end of the night. That’s some live sh**.”
Meek Mill seems to be taking on a more positive tone these days as he also opened up about fatherhood and being a positive role model in his community. “Growing up, ‘gangsta’ to me was, you had to be robbing, you had to be killing, you had to do a lot of stuff,” Meek laments. “My new definition of ‘gangsta’ is go get your mom a house.”
