R&B singer Attrell Cordes, also known as Prince Be, of the 1990s group P.M. Dawn has died.
Cordes passed away on Friday at a hospital in New Jersey from renal kidney disease according to PEOPLE. He was age 46 at the time of his death. Seems he was battling diabetes for years prior to his death.
“Prince Be Rest In Peace forever more, Pain from Diabetes can’t harm you anymore, My Heart is at Peace B-Cuz U suffered so long, Tell Grandma I said Hi & Stay Blisstatic & Strong,” the group wrote on Facebook.
P.M. Dawn was an influential voice in hip hop in the early 1990s. Atrell Cordes formed the group in 1988 with his brother Jarett. They released one of their first Billboard Hot 100 hit in 1991 with “Set A Drift On Memory Bliss.”
