Barrington Levy Hospitalized For Dengue Fever

Reggae icon Barrington Levy has been hospitalized after contracting Dengue Fever.

Reps for the reggae crooner confirmed the news with Urban Islandz on Monday.

“After running a dangerously high temperature he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Dengue Fever,” his reps said.

Levy was scheduled to perform at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday but had to cancel his appearance.

“I apologise to all my fans who wanted to see me but i ain’t got no other choice than taking care of my health,” Barrington Levy said in a statement.

The “Broader Than Broadway” singer has upcoming performance on October 3 for Trinidad “Unplugged.” It’s not clear if her will be able to make that commitment.

“Platinum Camp Records is asking Barrington’s fans and family to remember him in their prayers. He is among the last of the great reggae icons from way back so we need to hold on and cherish him,” Levy’s manager Daddy Biggs of Platinum Camp Records said.
