21st Hapilos head, Johnny Wonder, released a statement confirming that the show is off but gave no reasons why.
“We at 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone associated with the event; the Jamaican recording fraternity, our sponsors, fans, supporters and those who were slated to perform,” the executive vice-president said.
“Direct sales and streams are used to determine the winners,” Wonder added.
Earlier this week U.S. Marshals arrested 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution CEO Kevin Reynolds at New York’s JFK airport.
Authorities say he was wanted for a 2002 murder and has been on the run since then.
It is not clear if the postponement of the 21st Hapilos Anniversary and Digital Awards is as a result of Reynolds arrest.
