Jay-Z Leads 2014 Grammy Nomination With 9 Nods, Complete List

Jay-Z is going into the 2014 Grammy Awards with a total of nine nominations.

The hip-hop icon leads the pack with the most nominations including Best Rap Album for Magna Carta Holy Grail, Best Rap Song for Holy Grail which features Justin Timberlake, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Suit & Tie which also features Justin Timberlake.

Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Justin Timberlake received seven nominations each.

The self-proclaim genius Kanye West was noticeably absent for the most part, getting only two nominations for Best Rap Song for “New Slaves,” and Best Rap Album for Yeezus.

Rihanna received two nominations for Best Urban Contemporary Album (Unapologetic), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her single “Stay,” featuring Mikky Ekko.
