Dancehall superstar Mavado is the latest deejay to be plagued by rumors of misfortune or death.
Last weekend rumors surfaced online claiming the the “So Special” singjay was stabbed to death in Miami after an attempted robbery. Some anonymous source claimed that a group of men attacked the singjay while on his way to visit rapper Busta Rhymes. The source claimed that they took his bracelet and chain before stabbing him several times in the abdomen.

Sources close to the singjay told Urban Islandz that these reports are false and Mavado is alive and well.
“Individuals who are spreading these rumors need to stop,” the source said. “These individuals don’t know the ripple effects these rumors have on an artist. For the last couple of days both promoters and other artistes have been calling us asking about cancellation of shows and upcoming meetings etc. Mavado is very much alive, in good health and good spirit.”
This would not be the first time false reports run wild of the death of an artist. Last year Sizzla Kalonji was plagued by same rumors, prompting his management to issue a statement.
