Busy Signal Now On U.S. Soil, Prosectors To Outline Case

Urban Islandz reported earlier this week that Busy Signal was being extradited to the United States to face charges of absconding bail and possibly drug trafficking.

The dancehall artist was escorted out of the island on Tuesday morning (June 19), a day after United States Marshals arrived in a private jet.

A heavy security detail transported the deejay from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston to the Norman Manley International airport where he boarded the private jet in the company of U.S. law enforcement officials.

Busy is now in a holding cell in Minnesota after making his first court hearing on Wednesday (June 20th).

Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was arrested last month at the Norman Manley International airport in Kingston just moments after stepping off a flight from London. An extradition warrant was believed to be issued to the Jamaican government for a 10-year old case in Minnesota.

MUSIC: Busy Signal Ft. Damian Marley – Kingston Town (Remix)

Allegations are that Busy Signal jumped his bail in 2002 while awaiting trial for a narcotics offense. He fled the country to Jamaica before starting a career in music. The entertainer waived his rights to fight the extradition.

U.S. Prosecutors are expected to outline their case against the artist at a court hearing next week. It is still up in the air whether or not he will go on trial for any drug charges.
