Thugs get emotional too.
Ruff Ryders head DMX broke down during a recent episode of VH1’s Couple’s Therapy. The rapper was speaking about his estranged mother when her burst into tears.
X said his drug and drinking problem is as a result of his failed relationship with his mother, Arnett Simmons.
“I used to always turn to drugs when I was feeling a certain way and now that I’m not doing that, sometimes the pressure builds up, I’ll call (someone) and say, I just wanted to say ‘Mommy.’ I wanted to say that word,” DMX said.
“I wanted to say, Mommy. Not ‘My mother, I just wanted to talk to her. I haven’t talked to her in years and I just wanted to be able to say ‘Hi, mommy. I love you. Never once did she (say she loved me),” DMX added before bursting into tears.
DMX wife Tashera was there to comfort the 41-year-old rapper and reassures him that it’s ok to be emotional.
DMX, whose real name is Earle Simmons, is currently recording his seventh studio album, due in June.
