Black Cat will be defending their title at the return of one of dancehall’s most recognize sound system clash, World Clash.
Promoters Irish and Chin recently announced that the popular series will return to Pier 1 in Montego Bay on Easter Monday, April 9th.
The even is being advertised at “World Class Jamaica R.E.S.E.T.” former known to dancehall fans as Death Before Dishonour.
Black Cat, who is the defending champion, will be going up against other top local sound systems including seven-time champion Bass Odyssey and two-time champion Kilamanjaro, Black Blunt and Code Red. This year will also see two overseas sound system, Rootsman from Canada and Heavy Hammer from Italy.
The popular World Clash series had been on a two-year hiatus, but will return this year with a bang.
According to Irish And Chin, who are celebrating 15 years, they will be treating fans to some freebies from Japan base sound system Mighty Crown. Mighty Crown, who has won the series a number of occasions, will be giving away 15 pairs of their limited edition Nike sneakers.
Tony Matterhorn will host the event.
