A tribute concert will be held on Heroes day to celebrate the conferment of the posthumous award of Order of Distinction, Commander Class, on the crown prince of Reggae Dennis Brown.
The concert is being organized by the Dennis Brown Foundation and will be held at Chasers Cafe in Kingston on October 17.
The tribute concert will feature performances from friends of the late reggae icon with the legendary Lloyd Parks and We the People Band supporting the acts.
The gate proceeds will be going towards the Dennis Brown Foundation which has been supporting select charities.
Dennis Brown, who rose to fame in the late 1960s, passed away in 1999 from pneumonia.
Throughout his career he recorded more than 75 albums and several well known hits such as Here I Come, Promise Land and Revolution.
Bob Marley cited Brown as his favourite singer, dubbing him “The Crown Prince of Reggae.”
Today, Dennis Brown remains a hugely influential on future generations of reggae singers.
