Cherine Headline Caribbean Festival In Philadelphia

Dancehall-soul artiste Cherine will be one of the headlining acts for the Philadelphia Caribbean Festival on August 21 at The Great Plaza, Penns Landing in Philadelphia.

Cherine, who performed in same venue in 2008 with Sly & Robbie, will performing on the Caribbean Festival for the first time.

In 2010 she performed to a near capacity crowd at the Wachovia Centre in downtown Philadelphia, when she opened with Michael Franti and Spearhead for the multiplatinum-selling star John Mayer on his Battle Studies North American Tour. She most recently came through town with fellow reggae star I-Octane at The Blockley.

Cherine said fans can come and expect to have a good family time.

“I wont give everything away but patrons can come out and expect to really enjoy themselves. Bring the kids, bring grandma and grandpa and get ready for an amazing time.”

The festival is a family event and is free to the public. Well over fourteen Caribbean countries will be highlighted and patrons will be able to learn more about the Diaspora through music, culture, food, art & crafts.

Cherine has been enjoying much success both in Jamaica and on the International reggae and dancehall scene. Her track Rebel with deejay DI as well as Make Up Woi continue to enjoy steady rotation.
