Rapper/producer Dr. Dre sold 51 per cent of his audio company Beats Electronics to smartphone giant HTC, making him a cool $309 million.
Dre, who found the company in 2008 with Geffen records executive Jimmy Iovine, has since launched headphones endorsed by the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Diddy, who each put their name to their own signature headphones.
HTC will be using the Beats technology in upcoming smartphones.
Dre, who is a pioneer in the rap game, is putting the finishing touch on his highly anticipated upcoming album Detox.
