Nicki Minaj Charged For Using Undecent Language In Jamaica

Young Money’s Nicki Minaj was charged for using “curse words” during her performance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica last weekend.

According to reports, Minaj was served with a summons on Sunday morning (July 24) as she exited the Catherine Hall entertainment complex following her performance.

A high rank member of the St. James police division confirmed the reports to Urban Islandz. “Officers on duty at the venue observe the rapper use of the word “B*tch” during her performance and as per Jamaican law they took the necessary actions,” the cop told Urban Islandz.

The Pink Friday chart-topper was schedule to appear in court on Thursday (July 28), but have the case brought forward to Monday (July 25) after her lawyer pleaded for the case to resolve speedily. He then pleaded guilty on her behalf and was fined $1,000.

During her set, Nicki Minaj appears to be very much aware of the strictly no curse words in Jamaica policy. “It’s a good thing I can’t curse right now. They told me not to curse, so I’m trying to behave,” she told fans.

Earlier this year Minaj labelmate, Drake, narrowly missed an arrest in Montego Bay after using expletives on a show with dancehall star Mavado. Rappers Snoop Dogg and Jah Rule have had troubles with said law in Jamaica in past.
