New York rapper Ja Rule, who has been incarcerated on Rikers Island correctional facility since last month for a felony weapons conviction, is now facing two additional years.
The former Murder Inc star was sentenced to two additional years yesterday for tax evasion.
According to reports by XXLMag, Ja’s attorney Stacey Richman, said the rapper will be allowed to serve each sentence – both of which are two years – concurrently.
Ja Rule have since defends his past financial mistakes.
“I in no way attempted to deceive the government or do anything illegal,” he said, minutes before being sentenced in a New Jersey federal court. “I was a young man who made a lot of money — I’m getting a little choked up — I didn’t know how to deal with these finances, and I didn’t have people to guide me, so I made mistakes.”
Before he began his sentencing, Rule promised fans he will be dropping two albums during his incarceration, Pain Is Love 2 and Renaissance Project.
