Hip Hop mogul Diddy opens up about topping Forbes hip hop list, where he assures people there is no safe with a half billion sitting in it.
Last week Forbes released their annual list of “Hip Hop’s Cash Kings” and Sean “Diddy” Combs once again top the list with a whopping net worth of $475 million ahead of Jay-Z’s $450 million. While Diddy didn’t deny he was wealthy man, he assured people his bank account isn’t halfway to ten figures.
“To be honest, on that list, I was on the cover of Forbes back in ’98,” Diddy told MTV. “I been on that list. I don’t really get caught up into the list. I think people think that I have that money actually sitting at home in the basement.”
Combs went on to explain the basics of net worth. “It’s really like if I sold all my companies, and I take pride in [building] something as a black man that’s worth that much,” Diddy said. “To everyone calling me for a loan today, I do not have that money today!”
Diddy said he thinks the list will inspire people and emphasize the power of Hip Hop
“It helps inspire people and it shows the power of hip-hop.”
