The vibes at this weekend Stone Love anniversary was nothing short of spectacular although coming to an abrupt end at 5 AM Sunday morning.
Numerous awards was given out to stand out personalities in the dancehall community, but it was dancer Ding Dong who got the highlight recognition of the night.
Wee Pow, Stone Love founder, crowned Ding Dong the king of dancing in dancehall.
“I don’t want you normalise this thing. A king is a king and a queen is a queen. After Bogle this is the man who take it up and take it to the next level. As of today, he is officially named the king of dancing.”
Since the death of veteran dancer Bogle some years ago, there has not been a true king of dancing until now. Ding Dong has earned the titled through years of creating catchy dance moves in dancehall.
Other awardees at the grand event includes MOB for Best Local Male Dancer, the Swag Team for number one dance move – the Swag, Sample Six awarded Best Male International Dancer and Khago New Male Vocalist of the Year.
Stone Love is a veteran Jamaican sound system renowned for its juggling everywhere it goes. We look forward to another Stone Love anniversary next year.
