Just days before the greatest one night reggae show on earth, Sting, the promoter revealed that money is at the heart of the Vybz Kartel and Mavado absence.
The Sting boss, Isiah Laing, has confirmed twice that money has a major role to play in the absence of two of dancehall biggest deejays this year.
According to reports reaching Urban Islandz, Vybz Kartel is said to be charging Supreme Promotions, the promoter of Sting, over JM$ million, while Mavado is charging over JM$ 3 million.
This is money Laing said is out of Sting reach to get both artists on its 2010 roster. In an interview with ER, Laing said negotiations are sting ongoing to get Vybz Kartel on the show come Boxing Day (December 26).
“I don’t have them kinda money, but honestly the deal is not out on the ground yet, we are still trying to get him because I know the people in Jamaica want to see him,” Laing said.
Vybz Kartel have since announce his show at the Building on said night of Sting, and prep that Mavado might make a surprise appearance there.
Do you think Mavado and Vybz Kartel charging too much to appear on Sting?
