Hip hop veteran turn politician Wyclef Jean is currently in Jamaica for today’s mega Arthur Guiness Celebration.
Clef who was originally billed as a performer, will play the host of the grand affair. Speaking with Jamaican journalists, Jean said he really like Dr. Evil.
“I have songs with everybody, so that’s why I couldn’t perform, I was just like let me host, that way I could have fun with all the artistes. I appreciate what Cassava Piece does, I appreciate the Gaza, I appreciate the roots. I really like Dr Evil, I like the cleverness, the wittiness. I’m a big fan of Sizzla and Capleton and the good thing about reggae music is that it doesn’t matter if you old or young, you can still come back with a boom. It’s gonna be great. I even brought my young sound, Refugee Sound. We brought a whole heap a dub plates to come have some fun.” (The Star)
Wyclef recently announced his plans to re-enter the Haitian presidencial race in 2015 to help fix the impoverish nation’s growing problems. Clef is also working on an upcoming album.
