Caribbean-American rapper Nicki Minaj has teamed up with newly-signed Roc Nation artist Willow Smith by remixing her hit, “Whip My Hair”.
Details on the remix’s producer has also been revealed and a upload to youtube that has already got thousands of hits.
Nicki Minaj joins forces with Will and Jada Smiths’ nine year old prodigious daughter Willow Smith for this sassy “Whip My Hair” remix, produced by Jukebox. The debut single from her forthcoming album on Roc Nation, Willow shot the accompanying music video last month [directed by Ray Kay] – obviously going to whisk up an almighty storm when it drops [see what i didn’t do there?].
Starting off the track, Minaj deviates from her usual material by offering her young fans scholastically-themed rhymes.
Duets don’t come much more 2010 than this. Yes, someone up above was listening to Popdash’s dreams these past few months and has made the ultimate cartoon pop duet happen. That’s right. Nicki Minaj has hopped out oh her Willy Wonka coloured tank and put a verse down on the first official ‘Whip My Hair’ remix. Rapping about her school days, playing Double Dutch in the yard Nicki brings her usual A-List rhymes and unbeatable character to a song already burting with swagger and attitude.
Last month Urban Islandz reported to you that Willow Smith who is Will and Jada Smith 9 years old daughter was signed to Jay-Z Roc Nation label. Willow Smith has already sat front row at Milan Fashion Week at the Dolce & Gabbana show.
Of the ‘Whip My Hair’ track, Willow said: “It means just be an individual… You can’t be afraid to be yourself. You can’t let anybody tell you that that’s wrong.”
