Mavado’s recent legal troubles maybe taking a toll on his booming career. Rumors surfaced online yesterday claiming that the dancehall star was denied a Canadian work permit, and was subsequently axed from an upcoming show in that country.
The “So Special” deejay was scheduled to perform at Guvernment Entertainment Complex (Kool Haus) in Toronto, Canada on May 26. But promoters of the event were forced to take Mavado off the roster due to his work permit issues.
Reports alleged that the Canadian High Commission in Kingston rejected the Gullyside honcho’s application for a work visa.
Yesterday, sources inside the Gully camp told Urban Islandz that the deejay is expected to release a statement addressing rumors that he was dropped by Cash Money Records.
A statement is still forthcoming from Mavado’s management.
