Khalid responded to rumors that he was gay after his former boyfriend outed him.
The rumors started circulating on social media on Friday when a man posted a series of accusations against the singer on X. The man, singer Hugo D Almonte, didn’t mention Khalid’s name at first but later shared a photo of them together after being pressed by his followers to reveal the singer’s identity or quit posting. That’s when he shared a photo of himself and the “Location” singer looking cozy together.
The revelation caught his followers off guard, and the image clearly showed Khalid. The singer, who rose to fame with hits like “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke,” is notoriously private about his personal life, which made the revelation even more surprising.
While confirming his sexuality, Khalid makes it clear that he is not ashamed to be gay but hasn’t spoken about it because it’s no one’s business. “I got outted [sic] and the world still continues to turn,” the singer said. “Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies [sic] business! But I am okay with me love yall.”

Almonte also got some backlash for his comment about Khalid, which some fans found disrespectful. He called the “Location” singer names like “dumb” and “ugly,” which didn’t sit well with some of the crooner’s fans. “I was dating this dumb a– singer he’s ugly as f— but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him like why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you dumb a–!” Almonte wrote.
