Shenseea says she and her baby daddy were very close before they welcomed their son Rajeiro Lee.

The “Hit & Run” singer is having one of the best years of her career with the release of her second studio album, Never Gets Late Here, and a sold-out stadium tour in North America. Shenseea recently performed in front of a packed audience at her birthday bash in Plantation Cove, St. Ann, where she had some surprised guests like Ding Dong, Stalk Ashley, and Chronic Law.

Shenyeng also invited American podcaster Bobbi Althoff to Jamaica for her birthday festivities where the two visited Dunns River Falls and other local tourist spots. The dancehall singer also sat down for an interview with Althoff where she opened up about her desire to win a Grammy and shared bits about her private life. She shared that she would want to date someone for at least a decade before getting married as she explained that her past relationship with her baby daddy changed after they had a child.

“If I don’t find that person— even though I don’t think you can ever find that perfect person to have kids with because people change after you give birth— I know from experience,” she explained. “Like, my child’s father and I, we were really close, like twins, until we had a kid… it went opposite.”

Shenseea and her child’s father are currently not on speaking terms and Romeich Major has been a father figure in her son’s life since she began her dancehall career. She also revealed that she is currently single and having fun after having a difficult past two years.

The “Die For You” singer is currently putting in the finishing touches on her third album, due sometime early next year. She said the project is “practically done” but hasn’t yet settled on a title or release date.

Shenseea and her son are the new global brand ambassadors for Sunshine Snacks, a deal which arose from her recent philanthropic initiative after a hurricane hit Jamaica. “How ironic is it, that the biggest snack company in the Caribbean took interest in my philanthropic desire to give back to Jamaica after the Hurricane, has now chose my son [Rajeiro Lee] & I to represent their brand globally?” she wrote. “[Sunshine Snacks Jamaica] [Sunshine Snacks T&T] We’re looking forward to helping you spread the Sunshine everywhere we go! This Partnership will be a long and Prosperous one, i know it! This is a perfect example demonstrating that when you share your blessings more blessings will come!”
