Jenna Dewan is pregnant with her and her new man Steve Kazee’s first child together.
Just last year in April, fans received the heartbreaking news that celebrity couple and Step Up co-stars Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan had split. The former spouses who share a daughter – 6-year-old Everly – were together for over a decade and married for almost nine years. Of course, upon announcing their separation, the ex-couple released the usual generic statement saying their love for each other remains unchanged and all that good stuff, essentially revealing nothing at all that could offer even a fraction of closure to fans.
Well if this pregnancy announcement isn’t closure, I don’t know what is. In a statement with People on Tuesday morning, Jenna and Steve said, “We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!” The couple first sparked romance rumors around Halloween of last year. This was the same month that Jenna officially filed for divorce from Channing. Steve and Jenna only made it Instagram official this past June so in this social media era, one can imagine why this pregnancy appears to be soon.
A lot of fans had still not accepted the Tatums’ separation even after Channing started dating English singer Jessie J. Many even compared Jessie to Jenna saying they look eerily alike and expected that the former couple would eventually rekindle. Nothing could be farther from the truth, and that dream is officially dead.
The expecting parents took to Instagram to share the news as well with Jenna calling Steve “a gift from above” and motherhood the “absolute best most incredible thing” that’s happened to her. Steve also stated that he “couldn’t have found a better person to build a family with.”
While we are happy for the couple, the question that still lingered on everyone’s mind was, how does Channing feel about the mother of his child and former love of his life expecting? Well, according to E! News, he’s happy for Jenna. The Hollywood actress reportedly told her ex-husband the great news before the rest of the world, and a source told E! that “He is happy for her and was very supportive.”
So we guess that’s that. Congratulations Jenna!
