After watching the 2:37 trailer, we cannot help but express our joy that the gritty UK based show Top Boy is back and definitely bringing the heat for this third season. Drizzy, who serves as one of the executive producers of Top Boy, brought more heat today with the release of an image showing the tracklist for the show’s soundtrack.
The first song off the body of work is set to be released to the public today, which is the same day Top Boy appears online.
Top Boy has its storyline rooted in Jamaica, with some of the main characters being from Jamaica. Therefore, it is no surprise that Jamaican entertainers Popcaan and Quada were called up; holding the number 9 spot on the album with a song aptly titled “Billions.” Popcaan was officially signed to Drake’s, OVO Sound label earlier this year.
The 17 track project also includes the likes of Baka Not Nice, Popcaan, Dave, AJ Tracey, Little Simz and Drake, whos bonus track, “Behind Barz” has everyone talking. While many Drake fans are familiar with the track, since he dropped it back in July 2018 for London’s Link Up TV, there is a feeling in the air that Top Boy will help to push this track to higher heights.
Drakes goes all the way in, dropping bombs in every bar,
“I don’t have time for the wasteman jokes / Personal ting if I’m getting up close / Loyal to O ’cause I’ve taken a oath / Versace hotel and I’m taking the robes / Seen ’em in person, I’m seeing a ghost,” Drake sings.
The fans of Top Boy are in for a special treat this Friday the 13th.
