Summer really isn’t over after all. After weeks of waiting, two of the hottest female rappers in the game right now finally released the official music video for their summer anthem “Hot Girl Summer.” Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj have been teasing these visuals for a while now, and it’s only increased the anticipation for the video. Nicki Minaj could not wait to share the news to her Instagram within minutes of the video being uploaded to Megan Thee Stallion’s Youtube. “The wait is over [link] in my bio #HotGirlSummer,” she wrote. Megan also shared the news to her Instagram as well, captioning a clip from the video, “HOT GIRL SUMMER VIDEO OUT NOW !!! LINK IN BIO.”
The song features Hip Hop artiste, Ty Dolla $ign as well whose voice we hear on the hook. Also making a surprise cameo in the video is Nicki’s boyfriend, Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty who is seen caressing his lady on a pool chair, and Lala Anthony who appears as a reporter at the hottest party of the summer – the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ party.
Nicki and Megan won an MTV Video Music Award for the ‘Best Power Anthem’ just last month for this song. Nicki took to social media to express her pleasant surprise, “A VMA already?” she asked as the win preceded even the music video release.
