Remy Ma is finally off probation, and she and her husband are here to celebrate.
Remy Ma announced on Sunday via Instagram that she was only three days away from being off probation. The New York rapper served a five-year parole term after she was released from prison in 2014. Remy Ma spent over six years in prison in connection to a 2007 shooting. In the photos, Remy is seen sitting on a stoop in front of her home wearing an ankle bracelet. “Days and a Wake Up #RemyMa #OffParole,” the caption read. Her parole officially ended on Thursday.
Thursday night Remy’s husband and father of her daughter, Papoose, shared a video to his Instagram showing the couple on a yacht celebrating Remy’s freedom. The parents of “The Golden Child” were popping bottles and jamming out to Beyonce’s “Before I let Go.”
“And they lived happily ever after!!!! #blacklove Off papers The #queen,” Pap wrote in a caption.
It’s a blessing that Remy made it to the finish line of a lengthy case spanning over a decade. Earlier this year it wasn’t so sure she would get off parole after NYPD opened an investigation into possible parole violation.
Remy Ma was arrested back in May for allegedly getting in a fight with Love and Hip Hop: New York star Brittney Taylor. Taylor claimed Remy attacked her, and she had to go to the hospital to seek medical treatment. Remy was charged with misdemeanor assault. But Remy claimed Brittney was lying and that she was home at the time of the alleged assault. That case is still ongoing, and if a court finds that Remy violated her parole, she could possibly head back to jail.
But for now, it’s great to see the “Conceited” rapper and her husband celebrate this win.
