Tommie Lee is facing the biggest legal battle of her life.
The “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star was indicted on child abuse charges and is now staring down life in prison if convicted. TMZ reported that Tommie Lee could be sent to jail for 54 years if found guilty when she is tried in Georgia this year. She was slapped with seven charges with three of them being felonies which carries lengthy prison terms. The other charges are misdemeanor child abuse charges.
In case you’re not familiar with the case, in October last year, Tommie Lee went to her daughter’s middle school and walked right into her classroom and slapped her with her purse strap. The abuse didn’t end there. The reality TV star then dragged her daughter down the hall by her hair and slammed her into a metal locker.
Tommie Lee was arrested twice in two days in October over the same incident. She was taken into custody moments after the alleged abuse and released on bail 24 hours later. She was arrested again within hours after she was released for violating her court order to stay away from her daughter.
Tommie says she will be quitting “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” to focus on fixing her life after being in and out of jail for the past couple of years.
