Rising dancehall mogul Corey Todd is schedule to appear in court today to face charges of assault stemming from an alleged altercation with Stone Love selector Bill Cosby at a recent Club Riddim event.
According to reports, the American-Jamaican businessman was summons to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court to answer the assault charge.
The incident reportedly took place while Cosby was performing his set during the weekly event, Swag Tuesdays. The alleged altercation was the result of a diss song, “Informer,” Cosby played over and over done by Vybz Kartel and aimed at Todd.
Todd allegedly dropped a cup then a banner on the disc jock’s head to gain his attention. When that failed, Cosby intimated that Todd then approached him with a box full of CDs; throwing them at Cosby who knocked away the box.
Other allegations are that Todd may have box the disc jockey. Cosby suggested that he was in pain from the altercation.
Todd later admitted to an altercation taking place & that he did indeed drop a banner on Cosby’s head but implied that the altercation was nowhere near physical.
Corey Todd is the former business partner of Vybz Kartel, well known as the brain behind the once popular Street Vybz Rum. These days Todd is enlisting the services of other top acts in dancehall, including Beenie Man and Aidonia, to launch more products.
