Lil Wayne has finally dropped his long-awaiting new album Tha Carter V.
It’s Lil Wayne season again because Tha Carter V, aka C5, is finally here and you can listen to it below. The 23-track project packed some punches with guest features from heavy hitters like Travis Scott, XXXTentacion, Nicki Minaj, Sosamann, Reginae Carter, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Mack Maine, Nivea, and Kendrick Lamar.
Lil Wayne never disappoints when dropping new music, and after all that he has been through over the past few years, we can finally say ‘thank you Tunechi.’ Wayne recently settled his $51 million lawsuit with Cash Money Records and Birdman which ultimately paved the way for the release of his oft-delayed album. The settlement also includes Lil Wayne retaining full ownership of Young Money Records.
Tha Carter V is the first major album released by Lil Wayne which does not have a Cash Money logo on it, which means that he completely cut ties with the label. The move could particularly prove fruitful for Wayne who will ultimately pocket more of the profits from his album sales.
