Kendrick Lamar was expected to release his new album last night or sometime today April 7th, but that won’t happen since the project now officially gets a release date for a week from now.
The album is currently available on iTunes for pre-order. Kendrick Lamar new album is set for release on April 14, 2017, barring there are no delays. We still don’t have the album title or the tracklist, but we do know that his new single “HUMBLE” will be on the project. The LP will also come with 14 tracks. The official tracks and album title will be revealed in the coming days, according to TDE.
This new album is the follow-up to Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 classic project To Pimp A Butterfly. Among the contributors of the new project includes 9th Wonder, U2, BADBADNOTGOOD, DJ Dahi, the Alchemist, and more. K-Dot is already stirring things up with his new singles “HUMBLE” and “The Heart Part 4” where he took shots at Big Sean and Trump. But some of his female fans are not happy about some of the lyrics in the song “HUMBLE.”
“I’m so f***in’ sick and tired of the Photoshop / Show me somethin’ natural like afro on Richard Pryor / Show me somethin’ natural like as with some stretch marks / Still will take you down right on your mama’s couch in Polo socks, ayy,” the Compton emcee raps. The reaction to the lyrics and the music video on social media was swift and mixed, but most of the rapper’s female fan base found the content distasteful. Kendrick Lamar is known to release social and politically charged singles as in the case of “The Heart Part 4.” Certainly, there will be more to come on the new album we just have to wait and see next week Friday.
