Beenie Man was forced to pulled out of his planned performance at Drake’s OVO Fest last weekend in Toronto due to visa issues.
The dancehall hitmaker was denied a work permit to perform in Canada. Last weekend he released a statement apologizing to his fans for missing the show, as well as, revealing that he contracted the Zika Virus.

Sources told us that the Zika is not the reason why he was denied a Canadian visa.
“His illness was not the primary reason for not getting a visa,” sources said. “Drake’s team has been aware of the issues with his visa long before the show. Beenie team even asked Drake’s team for help in getting the necessary Canadian travel documents but we didn’t get any help so we were left with no choice but to cancel the performance.”
Beenie Man is currently at home recovering from Zika V and Dengue Fever.
