Bella Thorne issued an apology following severe backlash after she made a whopping $2 million on OnlyFans.
Former Disney star Bella Thorne has apologized amid the backlash brought on by her decision to join OnlyFans. The controversy comes from her supposed scam that caused the adult-content subscription service to change their payment policy, affecting thousands of sex workers who rely on the platform. Due to the actress’ actions, OnlyFans has enforced stricter guidelines, limiting the amount that creators can charge for content.
Thorne was immensely successful on the website at first, reportedly making $1 million her first day and 2 million within a week. She promised pay-per-view nudes for $200 but posted lingerie pics instead. Refund demands were so high that OnlyFans was forced to change their policies permanently, affecting sex workers in the long run. Now only fans creators will have to wait a month for what used to be a seven-day transaction, and the thousands affected started a firestorm on Twitter.
The star apologized on Saturday night, tweeting a lengthy rationale and a promise to those affected to have the issue investigated and fixed. Bella Thorne, who recently retaliated against a hacker’s attempt to blackmail her by leaking her own nudes, says she just wanted to “remove the stigma behind sex, sex work, and the negativity that surrounds the word SEX itself by brining a mainstream face to it.” Acknowledging that her good intentions backfired because of her publicity stunt, she admitted she failed to “create more revenue for content creators on the site. And in trying to do this I hurt you.”
PT1 Remove the stigma behind sex, sex work, and the negativity that surrounds the word SEX itself by bringing a mainstream face to it that’s what I was trying to do, to help bring more faces to the site to create more revenue for content creators on the site.

She continued, “I am a mainstream fan and when you have a voice, a platform, you try to use you in helping others and advocate for something bigger than yourself. Again in this process I hurt you and for that I’m truly sorry. This is f****d up and I’m sorry comment any ideas or concerns you want brought up to OF!! And send me your links and a pic so I can promote you guys!”
Although Thorne ended the thread on the possibility of a policy reversal, according to TMZ, “OnlyFans says their changes aren’t the result of any one person.” Still, the drastic disadvantage seems all Bella’s doing to most onlookers, who aren’t moved by claims she was only conducting research to make a documentary on the world of OnlyFans.
I wanted to bring attention to the site, the more people on the site the more likely of a chance to normalize the stigmas, And in trying to do this I hurt you. I have risked my career a few times to remove the stigma behind sex work, porn, and the natural hatred people spew…

behind anything sex related. I wrote and directed a porn against the high brows of my peers and managers because I WANTED to help with the stigma behind sex.
