Drake is making light about getting booed off stage, and apparently, so is Pusha T.
Sunday night may have marked a historical moment in Hip-Hop after rap superstar Drake was actually booed off stage during the pinnacle of his career. Fans everywhere were in complete disbelief that Aubrey “Drake” Graham had to stop his set while headlining Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival. The crowd was apparently expecting Frank Ocean but were surprised – and disappointed – with Drake instead, although Tyler never named the acts that were supposed to take the stage. But Drizzy seems to be in good spirits and responded to the incident late Monday night.
After reportedly calling the situation a humbling experience, the “Nonstop” rapper took to Instagram to troll the Flog Gnaw fans with a good joke. “Plot twist…just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw,” he wrote. “sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30.” It was good to see that Drake wasn’t truly bothered and we are sure Tyler was happy to see that as well. The Odd Future rapper went on a long Twitter rant shaming the crowd for disrespecting Drake and even went as far as changing his bio to read “embarrassed by fans right now.”
While tons of fans, critics, and other rappers joined in the conversation on social media of whether or not the crowd had the right to boo a huge star the likes of Drake, an unlikely party threw in their two cents in the form of subtle shade. About an hour after the Canadian MC broke his silence on being booed, the Def Jam Records official Twitter account posted a video of Drake’s mortal enemy Pusha T performing at Flog Gnaw fest in 2018. “Pusha-T had Camp Flog Gnaw LIT last year,” the caption read as the video showed Pusha performing “The Games We Play” off of Daytona as the crowd rocked out. Of course, Drake and Pusha T had a major feud, and Pusha T is the president of G.O.O.D. Music, which is under Def Jam Records. The message was sent loud and clear. And it seems like Pusha and Drake will continue to throw jabs at each other for some time to come.
